Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (2024)

1.

Overview

As stated above, there is a small quest line that will be offered to both Hordeand Alliance. Upon completion of the initial quest line for either faction, playerswill have the ability to explore and freely do any of the following activities:

  • More quests — There are two introduction quest lines to the island ofMechagon for both Horde and Alliance. The introduction quest lines will differfrom each other, but eventually meet together on the island. There are two worldquests that will appear and various NPCs that will come to the islandto offer various daily quests. We will cover these in more depth later on.
  • Operation: Mechagon is a 5-man dungeon that launched alongside Azshara'sEternal Palace after the release ofPatch 8.2. This mega-dungeon has 8 bosses and ends with you destroying King Mechagon.You can find a guide for it here.
  • Reputations — The Rustbolt Resistance is one of the 8.2 factions.By ranking up all the way to revered, you can buy recipes,mounts, essences for your Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (1) Heart of Azeroth, and blueprints to craft uniqueitems and equipment.
  • Junkyard Tinkering is a craftingsystem available to all players in Mechagon. It relies on collecting Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (2) Spare Partsand Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (3) Energy Cells around the island to craft a number of items: gear (up toitem level 420), pets, mounts, toys, etc.
  • Construction projects — Throughout the island, you will find variousbroken machines that are in need of repair. There will be 2 active constructionmachines active at any given time. You can either repair the machine yourselfwith materials that you have gathered on the island or you can recruit otherplayers to assist with repairing these machines.
  • Rare Elites — There are a total of 37 rare elites for players todefeat on Mechagon. Some will only spawn during the Drill Rig constructionprojects, Flame Turrets, or Reclamation construction projects.
  • New Mounts and Equipment — In Rise Of Azshara,Players could earn new mounts from both Mechagon and Nazjatar. For Mechagon, thereare obtainable mounts from questing and from within Operation: Mechagon.
  • Achievements — There are a dozen achievements that players canunlock on Mechagon. Completion of the meta-achievement Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (4) Mecha-Done will unlock aunique mount from Mechagon, while completing Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (5) Junkyard Tinkmaster will reward youwith the Junkyard title.

Unlocking Mechagon

After players have unlocked their faction's new allies in Nazjatar, they willbe able to pick up up the Mechagon breadcrumb quest (Fame Waits for Gnome Onein Mezzamere and Rumors of Mechagon in Newhome). Players can also pick upthe first quest The Legend of Mechagon/The Legend of Mechagonin Boralus Harbor/Dazar'alor from Tinkmaster Overspark/Gazlowe.

Once you have unlocked Mechagon, you will need to earn the trust of PrinceErazmin's and work your way up the standings with the Rustbolt Resistance faction.The quest lines for each area will be the same for both Horde and Alliance fromhere onwards.

Spare Parts and Energy Cells

One of the first things you will notice in Mechagon is that you keep lootingMechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (6) Spare Parts and sometimes also Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (7) Empty Energy Cells (and morerarely Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (8) Energy Cells). These items are used exclusively forJunkyard Tinkering, the Mechagon-exclusive profession. Please referto our Junkyard Tinkering sectionfor more information.

Only Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (9) Energy Cells are used in Junkyard Tinkering, but they are quiterare compared to Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (10) Empty Energy Cells. Fortunately, Empty Energy Cellscan be recharged using a Charging Station to become Energy Cells. Pleaserefer to our Charging Station sectionfor more information.

4.

Futher Questing in Mechagon

When you complete both quest lines, you can begin to freely explore the restof the island. There is a total of 11 other locations on the island that you candiscover and will have quest lines or daily quests for you complete. They are as follows(with quest lines listed).

    • There are quest lines scattered throughout the area of Rustbolt. Some of thesequests will require you to be Friendly or higher to be available for you tocomplete. An example of this would be for the quest The Quickcharge Contract,which requires you to be honored with the Rustbolt Resistance faction.

As you can see, not all of these locations have quest lines, but they almost all have daily quests.We are now going to look at the rest of the non-daily quests before moving on to daily quests in thenext section.

4.1.

Charging Station

The Bondo's Yard's quests listed above lead to unlocking the Charging Station. At the Charging Station,you can recharge your Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (11) Empty Energy Cells to make them Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (12) Energy Cells.

Mounts-related Quests

4.2.1.

Paint Vial Quests

There are a total of 7 Paint Vial quests that you can pick up from the rareelites that spawn in Mechagon. Please refer to our rare elite sectionfor more information about finding/summoning the elites. Information about which mob drops whichvial is from PTR comments on Wowhead.

Collecting all the vials rewards you with the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (13) Available in Eight Colors achievement,which counts towards the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (14) Mecha-Done meta-achievement (see theachievement section for more information).

4.2.2.

Shop Project Daily Quests

Recycler Kerchunk will have a daily, non-repetitive quest for you tocomplete. Each quest is a part of a series that ends with you acquiring theMechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (15) Scrapforged Mechaspider mount. The completion time will span over a few weeks.

4.3.

Rare Elite Quests

Some quests are directly linked to Rare Elitesand the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (18) Rest In Pistons achievement.

In Toothly Shallows (the small islands between Mechagon and the Western Spray),there is a small quest line that leads to killing Deepwater Maw, which is neededfor Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (19) Rest In Pistons. In order to begin the quest line, you need to speak withDanielle Anglers, who is located on the west coast of Mechagon. The quest line ismade up of the following quests:

  • Tidying Up;
  • Build A Bigger Fish Trap;
  • Let's Fish!.

During the quest line, you will obtain Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (20) Blueprint: Hundred-Fathom Lureand after killing Deepwater Maw, you will get Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (21) Blueprint: Canned Minnows.For more information about the blueprints, please refer to theJunkyard Tinkering section below.

5.1.

Daily Fishing Quests

All the daily Fishing quests provide a skill-up point in Kul Tiran fishingas well as reputation with the Rustbolt Resistance.

5.2.

Construction Projects

In the map above, you can see that there are 5 types of projects on Mechagon:Charging Stations, Reclamation Rigs, Flame Turrets, Drill Rigs,and Rustbolt Armory. Every day, you will be able to complete two differentconstruction projects, each from a different type. These projects repeat all over again allday long for other players to do them, but you can only complete them once each day. The mapabove mark the possible spawn locations for each type of project.

As you can see in the rare elite section,some Rare Elites only spawn when a given project is up. So you need to pay attention to that,if you are hunting a particular elite.

To find out which projects are available on a given day, you need to speak withWaren Gearheart in Rustbolt. Then, head out to the respective locationsto start the project, or help complete a team who has already started. After theproject is started, you can contribute to it by donating the required materials(Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (31) Spare Parts and Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (32) Energy Cell in the screenshot above).

After the project starts, mobs will start spawning and try to destroy it. You role isto keep contributing and defend the project. To help you with construction, there are 2 items fromJunkyard Tinkering that can be helpful:Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (33) Emergency Repair Kit and Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (34) Emergency Powerpack.

There are two achievements linked to construction projects:

  • Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (35) Junkyard Machinist requires you to complete 100 projects (so it will take at least 50 days);
  • Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (36) Head Financier of Mechagon requires you to contribute to 1,000 projects (you can only complete 2 projects a day, but you can contributeto as many as you like).

Rare Elites and Their Locations

There are 37 Rare Elites in Mechagon, 36 count towards the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (37) Rest In Pistons achievement,which is part of the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (38) Mecha-Done meta-achievement(see the achievement section for more details)and Scrapclaw, which is not part of the achievement, for some reason.

  • 1. The Scrap King
    • This Rare Elite has a chance to drop Paint Vial: Lemonade Steel and Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (40) Remote Circuit Bypasser.
  • 2. Killsaw
    • This Rare Elite has a chance to drop Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (41) Mechagonian Sawblades.
  • 3. Jawbreaker
  • 4. Arachnoid Harvester
    • This Rare Elite has a chance to drop the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (42) Rusty Mechanocrawler mount(see our mount section for more details).
  • 5. Rustfeather
    • This Rare Elite has a chance to drop the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (43) Rusted Keys to the Junkheap Drifter mount(see our mount section for more details).
  • 6. Rumblerocks
    • This Rare Elite has a chance to drop Paint Vial: Big-ol Bronze, which isneeded for the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (44) Available in Eight Colors achievement(see our mount-related quest section for more details).
  • 7. Foul Manifestation
    • Watch this video to learn how to summon this Rare Elite.
  • 8. Crazed Trogg
    • You need to get him to turn hostile. To do so, you need to use the3 Rustbolt Spraybots at Bondo's Yard. If the Crazed Trogg yells that he hatesblue, then you need to get the blue Rustbolt Spraybot to paint you blue and return to theCrazed Trogg. Proceed in the same way with green and orange, if he says he hates these colors.
    • This Rare Elite has a chance to drop Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (45) Blueprint: Blue Spraybot, Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (46) Blueprint: Green Spraybot, andMechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (47) Blueprint: Orange Spraybot (see Junkyard Tinkering),as well as Paint Vial: Fel Mint Green and Paint Vial: Fireball Red (see our mount-related quest section).
  • 9. Bonepicker
    • This rare elite has a chance to drop the battle pet Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (48) Bonebiter(see our battle petsection).

    • To defeat this Rare Elite, you need to kite it to Bondo's Yard, where the giant magnet will destroy it. Then make sureto loot all the gold on the ground. This mob drops Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (49) Blueprint: Vaultbot Key (see Junkyard Tinkering) andhas a chance to drop Paint Vial: Mechagon Gold (see our mount-related quest section).

    • This Rare Elite drops Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (50) Blueprint: Rustbolt Gramophone, which is needed for the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (51) Junkyard Melomaniac achievement(see Junkyard Tinkering and our achievement section).
  • 14. Seaspit
    • This Rare Elite drops Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (52) Blueprint: Rustbolt Kegerator, which you need tounlock the Rustbolt Inn and enable the daily quests from visitors for the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (53) Outside Influences achievement(see Junkyard Tinkering).
  • 15. Gear Checker Cogstar
    • To spawn this Rare Elite, you need to keep killing Upgraded Sentries in the area.It can drop Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (54) Blueprint: Ultrasafe Transporter: Mechagon (see Junkyard Tinkering).
  • 16. Boilburn
    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-JD41 construction project.It has a chance to drop Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (55) Blueprint: Scrap Trap (see Junkyard Tinkering) and Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (56) Vinyl: Depths of Ulduar.
  • 17. Enforcer KX-T57

    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-TR28 construction project.
  • 19. Gemicide
    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-JD99 construction project.

  • 20. Earthbreaker Gulroc
    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-TR35 construction project.
  • 21. Caustic Mechaslime
    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-CC73 construction project.
  • 22. Gorged Gear-Cruncher
    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-CC61 construction project. Hecan be located underground and is a very rare spawn.
  • 23. The Kleptoboss
    • This Rare Elite is only available during the during Drill Rig DR-CC88 construction project. Hecan drop the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (57) Spraybot 0D pet.
  • 24. Boggac Skullbash
  • 25. Motobrain Spider
    • This Rare Elite is only available during Flame Turrets or Reclamation Rig construction project.
  • 26. The Rusty Prince
    • To spawn this mob, you need to go to Future Mechagon, using your Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (58) Personal Time Displacer(see Junkyard Tinkering).
  • 27. Uncle T'Rogg
  • 28. Paol Pondwader
    • This Rare Elite is only available during Flame Turrets or Reclamation Rig construction project.
  • 29. Fungarian Furor
    • This Rare Elite will only spawn when Mylune is in town and the quest Aid From Nordrassil is available(see daily quests). Before completion of the quest, search for any blue mushrooms near the treesin the Fleeting Forest. You will want to keep clicking the mushrooms until theFungarian Furor spawns.
    • This mob also has a chance to drop Paint Vial: Overload Orange (see our mount-related quest section).
  • 30. Deepwater Maw
    • See the rare elite quest section for information on how tosummon and kill this mob.
  • 31. Malfunctioning Beastbot
    • This Rare Elite spawns a Neutral NPC in Bondo's Yard. In orderto activate it, you need to use a Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (59) Beastbot Powerpack, which can be crafted withJunkyard Tinkering, costing 1 Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (60) S.P.A.R.E. Crateand 1 Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (61) Energy Cell. The blueprints for this item can be found lying on the floorin Bondo's Yard, a few yards away from the NPC named Knuckles. The MalfunctioningBeastbot has a chance to drop a Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (62) Lost Robogrip pet.
  • 32. Scrapclaw
    • This Rare Elite drops Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (63) Blueprint: Protocol Transference Device (see Junkyard Tinkering).Once crafter, this item allows you to steal all beneficial effectsfrom a mechanical target in Kul Tiras and Zandalar on a 1-minute cooldown.
    • Note that this mob is not part of the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (64) Rest In Pistons achievement.
  • 33. Mechagonian Nullifier
    • Players will need too obtain and wear the Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (65) Remote Circuit Bypasser to be ableto hack the Frenzied Elemental in Junkwatt Depot. Players can obtain thepunchcard as a drop from The Scrap King.
  • 34. Oxidized Leachbeast
    • Once it is raining, small oxidized slimes spawn inJunkwatt Depot, players will need to kill the slimes until the rare mob spawns.
  • 35. OOX-Avenger/MG
    • This rare will only be available when Oglethorpe Obnoticusis in the town. Players will need to find and kill OOX-Fleetfoot/MG tomake the overstuffed rare chicken spawn.
  • 36. The Doppel Gang
    • This rare will require players to obtain 3 pieces ofMechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (66) Pressure Relief Valve, by doing the daily questsCogfrenzy's Construction Frenzy 3 times (either by doing it yourself 3times or once with a group of 3), to start the event. See this video for moreinformation.
  • 37. Sparkqueen P'Emp
    • This rare elite will only available when Razak Ironsidesis in Rustbolt as a visitor.

7.

Treasure Chests

A new type of treasure chest can be found throughout Mechagon. Mechanized Chest will be locatedall over Mechagon and will contain items such as Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (67) Spare Parts, Azeroth Mini Figures, and, very rarely, paint vialsthat can be used to paint your Mechano-Cat.

Players that win the PvP deathmatch in Bloody Grotto will win a Fight Club Treasure Chest. This treasure chest may containMechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (68) Annoy-o-Tron Gang or Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (69) Protocol Transference Device.

This system is intended as a fun catch-up mechanism (at least in terms of item level).

Operation: Mechagon

Operation: Mechagon was opened on July 9th, and is Battle for Azeroth'sfirst mega-dungeon. This dungeon is an underground fortress of the mechagnomerace led by King Mechagon. Players will experience a total of 8 bosses in thisMythic-only dungeon, but will have Mythic+ and Heroic versions addedlater on. Players will be able to loot items that are mostly set around item level415 and can be warforged or titanforged. Along with gear, players can obtain punchcards, pets, mounts, profession recipes, and Heart of Azeroth essences. We will havea guide for this dungeon upon its release.

11.

Mechagon Mounts

Players can obtain 8 new mounts while Mechagon. While most areearned from killing elite mobs, one mount is crafted by you instead,another one is the reward of a long quest line, and the last oneis a reward from the Mechagon meta-achievement Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (278) Mecha-Done.

X-995 Mechanocat

The X-995 Mechanocat is taught by Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (279) Mechanocat Laser Pointer,which is crafted using Junkyard Tinkering.The blueprint can be purchased from Cork Stuttguard at the south entranceof Bondo's Yard for 500 Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (280). Playerswill be able to collect and place each one on a pedestal. These minis are alsoknown to fight each other while on the pedestal.

  • Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (370) Secret Fish and Where to Find Them — Second part of a fishing achievement.

There is another meta-achiement, Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (371) Junkyard Tinkmaster, which rewards you withthe Junkyard title. It consists in the following achievements.

  • Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (372) Junkyard Tinkerer — Craft 1,000 Junkyard Tinkering items.
  • Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (373) Head Financier of Mechagon — Contribute to 1,000 Construction Projects.

There is also a standalone achievement, Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (374) Diversed Investments, whichyou will no doubt obtain while completing Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (375) Junkyard Machinist.This achievement can expand further with Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (376) Diversed Investments, whereplayers will need to complete each contruction project and reach 100% on the progress bar.

PvP

Players will be able to do PvP throughout the island of Mechagon. Players will be able to find an open world PvP arenacalled The Bloody Grotto, which is currently led by Bookie Longshot. Players will be able to locate this arenabehind the waterfall at Fleeting Forest and is only open when Grumbol Grimhammer is one of the daily visitors in Rustbolt.Players will be given the chance to fight in a Free-for-All deathmatch arena, where they will fight for a treasure chest that spawnsevery 30 minutes. When players loot the chest, it will have a lockout, so they are only able to obtain what is inside once per day, percharacter. Players can obtain Mechagon materials from the chest, such as an Mechagon Zone Guide and Junkyard Tinkering (377) Energy Cell, or other helpful items that can becreated by Blueprints.

Another form of PvP that is coming to Mechagon is The Robodrome. This will be a new instanced arena that is aimed for level90 to 120 characters. Players will find that the arena is circular in shape, designed in the style of the engineering of Mechagon. Playerscan find 3 platforms in the center and each will allow you to get on them from behind, unlike the previous arenas. These ramps will work morelike pillars, so that you can use them to break line of sight.
