Capcom has revealed that M. Bison, the first character of Street Fighter 6's Year 2 pass and the game's next DLC character, will be coming sooner than fans might have expected: June 26, 2024. Capcom's momentum for Street Fighter 6 isn't slowing down anytime soon, as following the first year DLC pass that added four new characters, both new and old, a second pass was recently revealed at Summer Game Fest. This second pass of content is touting not only the return of two fan-favorite characters but also guest fighters from SNK's Fatal Fury franchise.

Street Fighter 6's Year 2 pass sees the return of Elena and M. Bison. Elena was first introduced in Street Fighter 3 as part of the "new generation," and was a nature-loving fighter from Kenya. M. Bison, on the other hand, is one of the series' most iconic villains, who first appeared in Street Fighter 2 as a non-playable boss character, and would regularly assume the role in several games afterward. His reign as Shadaloo's leader was seemingly stopped when he was defeated by Ryu during the events of Street Fighter 5, and was presumed dead. However, the iconic villain has returned somehow, and will be terrorizing the roster of Street Fighter 6 this June.

Street Fighter 6's Year 2 reveal trailer was shown at Summer Game Fest, briefly showcasing each fighter and their release windows, with M. Bison being the first to release, arriving in Summer 2024. Following Summer Game Fest, Capcom teased fans about a gameplay trailer for M. Bison, showing off some of his moves and how he plays. Following the premiere of M. When Will M. Bison Be Added to Street Fighter 6?

  • June 26, 2024

According to Capcom, this version of the classic Street Fighter villain is suffering from amnesia, where he now wanders aimlessly upon his steed. While Bison has become a wandering drifter, he reclaims his old identity for himself, remaining the same character back in the older games. This iteration of Bison retains all the same moves fans are familiar with, such as the Psycho Crusher, Head Stomp, and even his Psycho Charge from Street Fighter 5. While M. Bison is still played by Gerald C. Rivers in the English dub, his longtime Japanese voice actor, Norio Wakamoto, will not be reprising his role, being succeeded by Taiten Kusunoki.

After M. Bison, Terry Bogard from SNK's Fatal Fury franchise will be added as the next character to Street Fighter 6's roster, arriving in Autumn 2024. Following Terry will be Elena in Spring 2025, and Fatal Fury's Mai Shiranui in Winter 2025.
