I've played it and I am sad that Dry Bones is not there, he is my main character for these games

Adding Bowser Jr would make this game an easy 100% 10/10 for me, it's really good!

Mario Party Superstars is an excellent return to form for the series, and finally shows what I was missing out on when my first game in the series was 10. However, one really weird sticking point to me is the character selection. You’re telling me that you had time to implement 5 remastered boards, 100 mini games, but only 10 characters? Additionally, why was Birdo chosen when she hasn’t been playable in a console spin-off title since the Wii U days? It just feels kinda strange that the roster was halved since Super, which had arguably the best roster of a Mario spin-off title.

Got this for a Christmas gift and have been enjoying it so far. More characters added in would be nice, but I’ll probably continue using Daisy.

Honestly, I find the choice of reporting this mod strange, since there's been more character mods for this game. I've seen Shrek, Parappa, Funky Kong, to name a few. Are those all going to get their own articles too?

@JakedaArbok If you want a real roster for Mario spin off games, look no further than the baseball games. Now THOSE has rosters!

Yeah, those were the best! I forgot about those!
I played Super Sluggers on Wii and the sheer size was amazing. It was one of the only games where you could play as King K. Rool, Toadsworth, and Dark Bones in the same game.
I amend my statement: Super Mario Party has the best Mario Party roster.

Not necessary or useful, but ok. More characters in Mario Party isn't a big deal since they don't have unique abilities and you can only use 4 per game... the core characters are fine.

I hope Nintendo is using the resources to add additional boards and minigames, since that will be far more beneficial to the game.

I am happy with Superstars so far and VERY glad to see the character dice blocks and allies removed, as those things broke the gameplay. Online play appears to work well...

This game is the perfect structure, now just keep adding boards and games.

@JakedaArbok I think it will have been due to the characters themselves. Almost all of them have new animations for simple things like victory screens, and then on top of that for every minigame and even some board specific events.

Super Mario Party had very few of these if I remember correctly.

Not to mention stickers n stuff.

10 is still a bit small but I find it more than sizeable personally.

That’s fair. I’m not an animator myself in the slightest, so I have no clue how hard it could actually be. However, the fact that detailed mods like this were available even into the first week of release (check out RedFalcon’s video on the Sans mod, which came out 4 days after release date) speaks volumes about the fact that more characters wouldn’t have been that monstrous of a task. Still, 10 is perfectly acceptable to be fair.
Edit: Also, Super Mario Party may not have had as many event spaces, but they did spend more time animating with the extra modes and even animating in the hub world.

This is SO CUTE! His little break dance is what I would love for dlc. Superstars is SO GOOD! And would love it even more if they added more boards, characters and mini games.

This is actually very impressive, the only give away that this is fan-made to me is his icon in the top right and some quirks with his face here and there. Otherwise, banger job.

The lack of characters and boards in disappointing, but the lack of Partner Play is even worse. That mode alone made Super Mario Party the go-to game for my gf and I.

A YouTuber named ZXmany tends to show a number of mods… characters like sonic have been added.

Wished mods were seen more than just being used for hacking, cheating, or pirating. A lot of us just want to have more fun with the game. I mean, thanks to the mods, it got me to play Breath of the Wild some more now that I can play as Linkle. lol

This makes me respect a lot of what super mario party was going for, the variety of characters and their custom dice were so fun. It was their best attempt at doing something new with the series yet and I'd love to see it as a supplement to regular mario party

If they just gave us more boards, rule customization, and qol changes it could really stand on its own. Ndcube is just notorious for abandoning games as soon as theyre released

@BirdBoy16 Honestly, I'd like that. My personal headcanon is that Mario is the evil one; Bowser was just gaslit into thinking he's the evil one, so he tends to think what he does is evil. All he wants is to merge the two Kingdoms together and rule over them with someone at his side, and what better way to do that than to choose someone who already rules one of them?

So uh.. anyway, yea. That would be nice.
