The site’s primary function is to track price history for nearly any product. The tool is accessible via an extension called The Camelizer (for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and Safari) as well.

The process is as simple as copying the page URL for the item and pasting it into the search tool at the top of the page or manually searching for the product. Hit the search button, and watch the CamelCamelCamel magic. Info about the product, a purchase button, and a detailed price history going back months or even years will be shown.

The site defaults to showing you Amazon’s price history, but you can track third-party vendors by using the drop-down menu. You can also specify a price drop percentage to be notified about. You can also opt to get an alert for any price drop related to the product you’re interested in. Honey is a browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It’s a great tool that delivers price updates from Amazon, eBay, and over 10,000 other online stores. We recommend using the Chrome option, as the Firefox option proved to be a bit buggy during our testing.

Once the extension is active, go to the item on Amazon. A square button with the Honey logo on the right side of the screen will inform you whether the item has seen a price increase or decrease recently. If you want to track prices for this product, click the button, and press the Watch for price drops button. The item will be added to your Droplist.

Access your items by going to the Honey website and switching to the Droplist tab. View its price history to get an idea of how the price fluctuates for the item. The price tracking and history aren’t as detailed as other sites on this list, but what really separates Honey from the competition is coupons. The tool searches the Web for coupons and promotional codes and makes it easier to add them to your purchase.

4. Best for Setting Desired Custom Price Drop – BigBangPrice

BigBangPrice is another Web alternative for checking prices on Amazon. Alternatively, opt for the mobile alternatives (Android, iOS) if you’re mostly browsing Amazon on your phone.

Like other tools, you can search BigBangPrice using the product link or the product ID. You can also search based on the product name. Once the tool finds the product, you can tell at a glance whether it’s a good time to buy the product. Quickly check when the product was sold for the lowest price. Creating a price watch is easy with BigBangPrice. The tool even lets you manually input the exact amount you want to pay for the product. As with the other options, you can browse Amazon’s daily top deals. BigBangPrice also lets you check the best coupon deals.

5. Best for Deals – SlickDeals

SlickDeals is a website that will help you identify deals on the products you’re interested in. The tool is available on the Web or as a mobile app (Android, iOS), although the latter is more limited.

Start by searching SlickDeals for the product. You can also search a store (for instance, Amazon) to see the best current deals. Once you stumble on a deal you like, check its price history. You can also check prices at other retailers selling the same product.

If you scroll down even further, there is an option to create a Deal Alert for the item’s product category. For example, if you are searching for a Kindle tablet, the alert will be created for Tablets and ereaders. If you want something more specific, click Deal Alerts in the menu at the top and create a customized alert. Include keywords, such as brand, product name and retailer, to get the best results.
